The Three Marys

The Three Marys is an experimental short film about the search for meaning in a society where religion has been replaced by the cult of the individual. It takes three influencers named Mary as its focus -- a fitness instructor, a life coach, and an award-winning screenwriter -- and satirizes the brands of salvation they push on their followers. The language in the piece is a mashup of original poetry and content found in online videos, prayers, and comment threads, and is intended to highlight the often absurd patterns of speech used in influencer culture.
